FAZIL SAY

Fazıl Say, her yıl beş kıtada verdiği yüzden fazla konser ile günümüzün en tanınmış klasik müzik sanatçılarından birisidir. Say, öğrenimini Hacettepe Üniversitesi Ankara Devlet Konservatuvarı ve Düsseldorf Schumann Akademisi’nde tamamladı. Hocaları, Türkiye’deki başlıca müzik pedagogları olan; Mithat Fenmen ve Kamuran Gündemir ‘di. Almanya’da ise, ünlü piyanist David Levine ile çalıştı.

1994 yılında New York’da Genç Konser Sanatçıları Yarışması’nda dünya birincisi olduktan sonra konser hayatı tüm hızıyla başladı. Orpheus Oda Orkestrası ile New York Carnagie Hall başta olmak üzere dünyanın önemli sahnelerinde, farklı ülke ve şehirlerinde büyük orkestralar ve şefler ile çalıştı.

Konzerthaus Dortmund, Schleswig- Holstein Müzik Festivali, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Zürcher Kammerorchester, Dresdner Fillarmoni’de daimî sanatçı olarak yer aldı.  Solo resitallerinin yanı sıra; Maxim Vengerov, Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Sabine Meyer gibi sanatçılar ile beraber çalıştı. Duolar kurdu ve dünya turnelerine çıktı.

Bir yorumcu olarak, Bach’dan Stravinski’ye Mozart’dan Ravel’e, Beethoven’den Chopin ve Mussorgski’ye kadar pek çok farklı bestecinin eserlerini kaydettiği CD’ler 30’dan fazla ödül ile onurlandırıldı. Sanatçı; yorumcu ve besteci olarak dört kez ECHO Ödülü’nü aldı. 2016 yılında Bonn’da Uluslararası Beethoven İnsan Hakları, Barış, Özgürlük, Yoksulluğun Azaltılması ve Kapsayıcılık Ödülü’nü aldı. 2017 sonbaharında Duisburg şehrinin Müzik Ödülü’ne layık görüldü. Gramofon Klasik Müzik Ödülü kazandı.

Son yıllarda yorumcu kimliğinin yanı sıra; besteci kimliği ile de ön plana çıkan Fazıl Say, çalışmalarını bu yönde yoğunlaştırdı. “İstanbul Senfonisi”, “Mezopotamya Senfonisi”, “Universe Senfonisi”, “Umut Senfonisi”, “Haremde 1001 Gece” keman konçertosu, “Hezarfen” ney konçertosu, “Hayyam” klarnet konçertosu, “İpek Yolu”, “Anadolu’nun Sessizliği”, “Su” piyano konçertoları, “Nirvana Yanıyor” “Overture 1914”, “Four Preludes”, “Symphonic Dances”, “Kapalı Çarşı” gibi orkestra eserleri besteledi.

“Divorce”, “4 Şehir Sonatı”, “Space Jump” gibi pek çok oda müziği eseri besteledi, kaydetti. Bu eserler; dünyanın her yerinde hem kendisi hem de farklı yorumcular tarafından repertuvara alındı.

Ayrıca, ‘Nâzım Oratoryosu’, ‘Metin Altıok Ağıtı’, ‘Sait Faik’ ve ‘Hermias’; onun edebiyatı ve müziği bütünleştirerek kurguladığı Türkçe eserleridir. Genç yaşlarında bestelemeye başlayıp yıllarca üzerine çalıştığı “İlk Şarkılar” ve “Yeni Şarkılar” projeleri; 2013-2015 yılları arasında çok satan albümler arasında yer aldı. 2017 yılının sonunda ise “Güz Şarkıları” albümünü yaptı.  2020 yılında ise “Şu Dünyanın Sırrı” albümü dinleyenlerle buluştu.

Sanatçının iki yıl üzerinde çalıştığı ve Beethoven’in tüm 32 sonatını yorumladığı 9 CD’lik kayıt projesi 2020 yılının Ocak ayında dinleyici ile buluştu. Pandemi döneminde beste ve kayıt çalışmalarına ağırlık veren sanatçı 2021 yılının ilk aylarında dört kuşak Türk bestecisinin yüzün üzerinde eserini kaydederek, bu arşiv niteliğindeki çalışmayı dinleyicilere sundu.

Bugüne kadar yüze yakın eser veren Say’ın bestelediği son eserler arasında ise; Flüt Dünyası Opus “84”,  Şahmeran “Viyolonsel ve Orkestra için” Opus 85, Adagio “ Opus 86”, Şükran Türküsü “Opus 88”  Şu Dünyanın Sırrı “ Opus 89” , Solo Obua Sonatı “Opus 91”, Ruşen Güneş Anısına Solo Viyola Sonatı “Opus 92” , Kontrabas Sonatı “Opus 93” , Goldberg İstanbul’da “Opus 94” , Gitar için 10 Parça “Opus95” Kadın Şairler “Opus 96”, Anka Kuşu “ Opus 97”, Trompet Org Konçertosu “ Opus 98” , Yeni Hayat piyano sonatı “Opus 99” ve Hayat Ağacı “Opus 100” yer alıyor.

FRIEDEMANN EICHHORN

 Neslinin önde gelen Alman kemancılarından olan Friedemann Eichhorn, dünya genelinde konser sahnelerinde tanınan bir isimdir. Christoph Eschenbach şefliğinde Konzerthausorchester Berlin ve Sir Antonio Pappano’nun şefliğinde Orchestra di Santa Cecilia di Roma’daki ilk performansları, 2021-22 sezonunun öne çıkan çalışmaları arasında yer alıyor.

Friedemann yakın zaman içinde Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie, Hamburg ve Munich senfoni orkestraları, St. Petersburg Filarmoni, Tayland Filarmoni, Kore Oda Orkestraları ve diğer orkestralarla birlikte çalışmıştır. Tarihi Mannheim Oda Orkestrasıyla elliden fazla kez başkemancı olarak sahne almıştır. Uzun süredir Naxos, Hanssler Classic ve diğer albüm şirketleri için kayıt yapan sanatçının 30’dan fazla CD’yi bulan kayıtlı geniş bir solo ve oda müziği repertuvarı bulunmaktadır. Bu kayıtlar arasında Beethoven’in çağdaşı ve Fransız keman ekolünün kurucularından Pierre Rode’ye ait 13 keman konçertosunun dünyadaki ilk kayıtları da yer almaktadır. Bestecinin, Deutsche Radio-Philharmonie ve Christoph Eschenbach ile kaydettiği ve Fazıl Say’ın tüm keman eserlerini içeren son albümü (Naxos) pek çok ödüle layık görülmüş ve eleştirmenlerin büyük beğenisini toplamıştır. Friedemann Eichhorn, Fazıl Say’ın 2. Keman Konçertosu “Karantina Günlerinde Bahar Sabahları” ve “Kaz Dağları” isimli 2. Keman Sonatı eserlerinin dünya prömiyerlerini gerçekleştirmiştir.

Friedemann Eichhorn oda müziği alanında Gidon Kremer ve Yuri Bashmet ile çalışmış ve merhum Yehudi Menuhin ve Igor Oistrakh için solistlik yapmıştır. Kronberg Akademisi’nin sanat direktörü olan Friedemann Eichhorn, Franz Liszt Weimar Müzik Üniversitesi’ndeki profesörlük görevini keyifle yürütmektedir. Eichhorn Valery Gradow ile Mannheim Üniversitesi’nde Alberto Lysy ile İsviçre’deki Menuhin Akademisi’nde ve Margaret Pardee ile New York’taki Juilliard School’da eğitim almıştır. Mainz Üniversitesi’nden müzikoloji alanında doktora derecesi alan Eichhorn akademik dergilerdeki yayımladığı çok sayıda makalenin yanı sıra, keman için pek çok bestenin partisyonlarını da yayımlamaktadır (Schott Music, G. Henle Verlag). Friedemann Eichhorn 1856 yılından kalma “Ex Huberman” isimli Jean Baptiste Vuillaume yapımı kemanı çalmaktadır.

FAZIL SAY

Fazıl Say is one of today’s best-known classical music performers, with more than hundred concerts on all five continents every year. Say completed his education at the Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory and the Robert Schumann Academy in Düsseldorf. He studied with leading musical instructors Mithat Fenmen and Kamuran Gündemir in Türkiye and with the famous pianist David Levine in Germany.

After coming first in the Young Concert Artists international competition in New York in 1994, he launched into an intensive performing career. He played concerts with renowned orchestras and conductors in many different countries and cities, and performed at the world’s most notable venues, capped by his appearance with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra at New York’s Carnegie Hall.

Say has featured as artist-in-residence at the Konzerthaus Dortmund, the Schleswig- Holstein Music Festival and Franfurt’s Alte Oper, as well as with the Zürcher Chamber Orchestra and the Dresdner Philharmonic. In addition to his solo recitals, he has worked with musicians like Maxim Vengerov, Patricia Kopatchinskaja and Sabine Meyer, forming duos and embarking on world tours.

As a performer, Say has recorded the works of many different composers ranging from Bach to Stravinsky, Mozart to Ravel, and Beethoven to Chopin and Mussorgsky. These CDs have won over 30 awards. As a performer and composer, he has been presented with four ECHO awards.

In 2016, Say won the International Beethoven Prize for Human Rights, Peace, Freedom, Poverty Reduction and Inclusion, in Bonn. In the autumn of 2017, he was found worthy of the Music Prize of the city of Duisberg. He also holds a Gramophone Classical Music Award.

In recent years, Say has come to the fore with his prowess as a composer as well as a pianist. Devoting more and more time to this aspect of his work, he has produced orchestral works like “Istanbul”, “Mesopotamia”, “Universe” and “Hope” symphonies, “1001 Nights in the Harem” violin concerto, “Hezarfen” ney concerto, “Khayyam” clarinet concerto, “Silk Road”, “Silence of Anatolia” and “Water” piano concertos, “Nirvana’s Burning”, “Overture 1914”, “Four Preludes”, “Symphonic Dances” and “Grand Bazaar”.

Say has also composed and recorded many pieces of chamber music including “Divorce”, “Four Cities”  sonata and “Space Jump”. These works have become part of his own repertoire and of the repertoires of various other performers around the world.

The “Nazım Oratorio”, “Elegy for Metin Altıok”, “Sait Faik”, and “Hermias” are among the works in Turkish which Say has created by combining music with literature. His projects “İlk Şarkılar” (First Songs) and “Yeni Şarkılar” (New Songs), which he started to compose at an early age and subsequently worked on for years, were among the best-selling albums of the years 2013-2015. In late 2017, he published the album “Güz Şarkıları” (Autumn Songs) and in 2020 his album “Şu Dünyanın Sırrı” (The Secret of This World) appeared.

In January 2020, Say published a nine-CD recording of all 32 of Beethoven’s sonatas – a project he had been working on for two years. During the pandemic, he concentrated on his efforts as a composer and recording artist. In the early months of 2021, he recorded more than 100 works by Turkish composers spanning four generations, thus providing his audience with a work of archival proportions.

To date, Say has composed about 100 works. Among his most recent compositions are the World of the Flute “ Opus 84”,  the Şahmeran for Cello and Orchestra “ Opus 85”, Adagio “Opus 86”, the Song of Thanks “Opus 88”, The Secret of This World “Opus 89”, Sonata for Solo Oboe “Opus 91”, Sonata for Solo Viola in Memory of Ruşen Güneş “Opus 92”, Sonata for Double Bass “Opus 93”, Goldberg in Istanbul “Opus 94”, Ten Pieces for Guitar “Opus 95”, Woman Poets “Opus 96”, the Phoenix “Opus 97”, Concerto for Trumpet and Organ “Opus 98”, the New Life piano sonata “Opus 99” and Tree of Life “Opus 100”.

Friedemann Eichhorn, violin

One of the leading German violinists of his generation, Friedemann Eichhorn is a regular guest on concert stages around the world. Highlights of the 2021-22 season included debuts with the Konzerthausorchester Berlin under the baton of Christoph Eschenbach and with the Orchestra di Santa Cecilia di Roma under Sir Antonio Pappano.

Recently Friedemann has collaborated with the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie, the Symphonies of Hamburg and Munich, St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Thailand Philharmonic, Korean Chamber Orchestra and others. He has given more than 50 play-lead concerts with the traditional Mannheim Chamber Orchestra. A longtime recording artist for Naxos, Hanssler classic and other labels Friedemann has recorded a wide solo and chamber music repertoire on more than 30 CDs, including the world premiere recordings of the 13 violin concertos by Beethoven’s contemporary and co-founder of the French violin school, Pierre Rode. His recent album of Fazil Say’s complete violin works (Naxos), recorded together with the composer, the Deutsche Radio-Philharmonie and Christoph Eschenbach, has received many distinctions and rave critical acclaim. Friedemann Eichhorn has given world premieres of the Violin Concerto No.2 “Spring Mornings in the days of quarantine” and the Violin Sonata No.2 “Mount Ida” by Fazil Say.

Friedemann Eichhorn has collaborated in chamber music with Gidon Kremer and Yuri Bashmet and as a soloist with the late Yehudi Menuhin and Igor Oistrakh. Friedemann Eichhorn is artistic director of the Kronberg Academy and enjoys teaching as a professor at the University of Music Franz Liszt Weimar. He has studied with Valery Gradow at the Mannheim University, Alberto Lysy at the Menuhin Academy in Switzerland and Margaret Pardee at the Juilliard School New York. He received a PhD in musicology from the University of Mainz and releases numerous articles in journals as well as sheet music of many violin works (Schott music, G. Henle Verlag). Friedemann Eichhorn plays the Jean Baptiste Vuillaume violin “Ex Huberman” from 1856.
